In de afgelopen twee decennia is het Polytechnisch Instituut van Viseu continu gegroeid en omvat het nu 6 eenheden: 5 hogere scholen - The School of Education, The School of Technology, The Agrarian School, The School of Technology and Management (in the city of Lamego), The Health School; en The Welfare Services. Momenteel heeft deze instelling meer dan 7000 studenten en 400 docenten.

Het Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) werd opgericht in 1980. Is een regionale instelling met als doel gekwalificeerde menselijke, culturele, wetenschappelijke, technische en professionele opleiding, om het nodige onderzoek uit te voeren om haar missie te vervullen en om samen te werken met de regionale gemeenschap van Alto-Minho, met name met zijn productieve en ondernemende sectoren.

Bij ISMAI vind je niet alleen uitstekend onderwijs, maar ook een grote en moderne universiteitscampus met uitstekende vervoersvoorzieningen, waaronder het metrostation ISMAI, pal naast ons universitair instituut.
