Our Concentrations
Data Analytics Concentration
Studenten in deze concentratie kiezen CBIS 4140 Enterprise Performance Management als sluitsteencursus. Data Analytics onderzoekt datavisualisatie en voorspellende analyses. Studenten werken vaak in adviesrollen en analyseren gegevens.
De drie cursussen waaruit deze concentratie bestaat, zijn CBIS 3120 Inleiding tot ERP, CBIS 4120 Business Intelligence & Analytics en CBIS 4140 Enterprise Performance Management Systems. Studenten kunnen een keuzevak datamining volgen voor meer kennis op dit gebied.
Information Technology Concentration
Studenten in deze concentratie volgen CBIS 4218 Advanced Networking als sluitsteencursus. De concentratie Informatietechnologie bereidt studenten voor op IT-ondersteuning, netwerken en/of serverbeheer.
Alle studenten volgen CBIS 3213 Inleiding tot informatietechnologie en CBIS 4218 Advanced Networking. Studenten selecteren een van deze cursussen om hun concentratie te voltooien: CBIS 3211 Informatietechnologie Hardware & Software; CBIS 4217 Computerbeveiliging; of CBIS 4225 Serverbeheer. De twee niet geselecteerde kunnen als algemeen keuzevak worden gevolgd.
Concentratie van webontwikkelaars
Studenten in deze concentratie volgen CBIS 4214 Web Application Integration als sluitstukcursus, samen met CBIS 4210 Business Application Development.
Studenten worden doorgaans ingezet als webmasters. Studenten kiezen een van deze om hun concentratie te voltooien: Een van de volgende: CBIS 3218 Web Design Tools, CBIS 3219 Web Development of CBIS 4216 Advanced Web Application Integration. Studenten op dit gebied worden sterk aangemoedigd om een minor informatica te volgen om meer programmeerervaring op te doen.

- Studenten in ons programma krijgen praktijkervaring met technologieën zoals SAP, PowerBI, Tableau, PHP, SQL Server en LabSim.
- Ga verder dan het klaslokaal door een stage te voltooien. Studenten die CBIS 4605, CSCI 2960, CSCI 4960 of MMIS 6805 volgen, kunnen de afdelingsvoorzitter of facultaire stagecoördinator verzoeken een aankomende stage te gebruiken als academisch krediet voor een van deze cursussen.
- Naast onze concentraties hierboven, kun je ervoor kiezen om een bedrijfsgerichte concentratie aan je diploma toe te voegen. Studenten kunnen kiezen uit Logistiek en Transport, Human Resources Management of Sales als optionele concentraties.

Our scholarships provide students with opportunities to assist with paying college expenses after they become GCSU students. Fellowships provide students with a paid internship during the summer followed by scholarship funds the next school year. Satisfactorily complete core Areas A-E, as listed in the Core Curriculum section of this catalog.
MIS majors may take ECON 2106 in Area E and complete the remaining hours required in Area F with a 1000-4000 level elective.
MATH 1401 is a prerequisite for MGMT 3101 and should be taken for Area D Math.
Core Curriculum
Georgia College, in cooperation with other institutions of the University System of Georgia, has adopted a core curriculum to allow the transfer of credit from one University System institution to another without penalty to the student. The University System's core curriculum is comprised of five areas: Areas A - E.
Students successfully completing an Area A-E course at one University System institution will receive full credit in Areas A-E for the course upon transfer to another System institution, even if the area has not been completed, as long as the course is within the area hour limitations of either the sending institution or the receiving institution and the student does not change from a non-science major to a science major.

Earn a grade of C or higher in all major courses, all Area F courses, and all Common Business Knowledge courses. Common Business Knowledge courses are ACCT 2101, ACCT 2102, BCOM 2285, BUAD 2172, CBIS 2220, ECON 2105, ECON 2106, FINC 3131, LENB 3135, MGMT 3101, MGMT 3141, MGMT 3165, MGMT 4195, and MKTG 3161, and the course taken to fulfill the international business requirement.
The senior exit requirement for a management information systems major is the Major Field Test completed during MGMT 4195. Students are also required to complete a College of Business & Technology exit survey.
