Er is veel vraag naar afgestudeerden in computerwetenschappen. Als je deze opleiding afrondt, krijg je de kennis die je nodig hebt om in de voorhoede van deze boeiende sector te werken.
Als onderdeel van deze cursus:
- Bestudeer snel ontwikkelende gebieden zoals Software Engineering, concepten in kunstmatige intelligentie, netwerkcommunicatie en cloudgebaseerde systemen
- Leer de principes van computerwetenschap en hoe deze toe te passen op problemen in verschillende bedrijfstakken
- Werken met verschillende tools, waaronder Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Python, Java, OpenStack, Eclipse, Visual Paradigm en Android Studio.
- Verbeter je vaardigheden op het gebied van teamwork en projectmanagement door gebruik te maken van de agile vaardigheden en technieken die in veel industrieën wijdverbreid zijn, terwijl je je expertise in opkomende technologieën aanscherpt.

In de praktijk leren
Praktische ervaring staat centraal in je studie. We hebben goede contacten met het bedrijfsleven en je kunt een jaar stage lopen. Eerdere studenten hebben gewerkt bij NHS Digital, Sky en Rolls Royce.
Groepsprojecten en presentaties, samen met hackathons en wedstrijden, helpen je de theorie te koppelen aan de praktijk van de industrie.
Specialistische faciliteiten
Als student in deze cursus heb je toegang tot een scala aan middelen, waaronder een speciaal netwerklab waar je leert netwerken te configureren en te werken met standaard netwerkbeheertools. Je kunt ook gebruikmaken van ons sandboxlab met volledige beheerdersrechten, wat je de vrijheid geeft om aan een reeks technologieën te werken. Dit stelt je in staat om geavanceerde vaardigheden te ontwikkelen met behulp van een verscheidenheid aan tools en mogelijkheden voor het leren ontwikkelen van systemen met Raspberry Pi en IoT.

Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through several modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study. Our subject-specific librarians will be on hand to direct you to specialist learning and study-skill resources. You’ll also be assigned an academic advisor to give you tailored feedback and support.
