The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care degree at Lincoln takes an integrated approach, combining policy and practice. It aims to develop the knowledge, skills, and values required to take on many of the new and emerging responsibilities within a range of care sectors.
Students are taught by researchers and academics with both practical experience and professional links in the sector. The School of Health and Social Care maintains close links with health trusts, local authorities, and numerous voluntary and private organisations to ensure that teaching is informed by the latest developments in practice and policy.

How You Study
Het eerste jaar laat studenten kennismaken met de fundamentele theorieën, vaardigheden en kennis van gezondheidszorg en sociale zorg. Dit omvat de context van de praktijk in de gezondheidszorg en de sociale zorg, de sociale en psychologische ontwikkeling van kinderen en volwassenen, en de waarden die ten grondslag liggen aan de praktijk.
De cursus gaat verder met het verkennen van de bredere context van de praktijk, waaronder geestelijke gezondheid en welzijn, het begrijpen van de digitale werkplek, gelijkheid en diversiteit, en gezondheidsgedrag. Het biedt mogelijkheden om de gezondheidszorg- en sociale zorgpraktijken in andere landen te vergelijken.
In het laatste jaar ligt de nadruk op het vergroten van professionele kennis, vaardigheden en ontwikkeling. Een reeks optionele modules over specialistische onderwerpen kan studenten in staat stellen de modules te kiezen die het beste aansluiten bij hun persoonlijke interesses en loopbaanambities, waaronder advies- en begeleidingsvaardigheden, werken in het onderwijs en de kinderzorg, werken met ouderen in gemeenschaps- en gezondheidszorgomgevingen, en werken met mensen in de sociale zorg voor volwassenen.
