BA in politiek en criminologie

De BA in Politiek en Criminologie is een van de Pathways binnen de BA-opleiding Sociale Wetenschappen.

Het is ideaal als u uw opties open wilt houden of specifieke onderwerpen zoals ras, klasse, criminaliteit of religie vanuit verschillende perspectieven wilt bestuderen.

Met deze flexibele opleiding kun je in het eerste jaar minimaal drie vakken volgen. In het tweede en derde jaar verdiep je je verder in de vakken waar je gepassioneerd over bent.

The six subject areas are:

• Criminology - The study of the causes and consequences of crime.
• Philosophy - The study of the nature of knowledge, truth and values. It also encourages greater consideration of our reasoning, judgement and ethics.
• Politics - The study of human organisation, government and power. It examines and evaluates political systems and institutions.
• Data-analyse - De studie van gegevens en analyses om de sociale wereld te begrijpen.
• Social Anthropology - The study of societies and cultures across the globe in a comparative perspective.
• Sociologie - De studie van de samenleving en het onderzoeken van onderwerpen als sociale ongelijkheid en vormen van het dagelijks leven.

Je bent niet gebonden aan de cursuscode waarvoor je je via UCAS aanmeldt en je hebt de mogelijkheid om deze na jaar 1 te wijzigen.

Course content for year 1

Year 1 gives you a broad introduction to the Social Sciences, enabling you to make an informed choice of areas to specialise in for your second and third years.

Course content for year 2

In jaar 2 begin je met specialiseren. Als je je specialiseert in één vak, haal je daar 60 tot 80 studiepunten uit. Als je je specialiseert in twee vakken, haal je er 40 studiepunten uit.
